Xymogen Xperience
The XYMOGEN XPERIENCE is an annual conference hosted by my job, that has a website for which I serve as the product owner.
The most recent update to the website required a significant (and welcomed) redesign, giving me the opportunity to apply some of the design system techniques I added during the XYMOGEN.com rebranding project.
I collaborated with the Marketing team and their designers on the motion and interaction design to produce a fresh, elegant, and responsive landing page that accurately portrays the refined nature of the conference itself.
Xymogen.com splash page
During the XYMOGEN.com rebranding project, the Marketing team wanted to add a splash page to the site with the purpose of directing consumer and business customers to relevant landing pages for more information, and for providing some “wow” factor to new visitors’ experience.
I was given free reign for the motion design aspect of this feature. I elected to use GSAP for the transitions due to its timeline capabilities and included optimization techniques.
In an attempt to limit the splash page to new viewers only, I leveraged the browser’s localStorage API to store a flag variable that controls whether it should be shown or not.
MedPax landing page
This was an early page I was tasked with developing that required me to implement scrolljacking. Scrolljacking is a web design technique that involves overriding the browser’s default scrolling behavior to create custom transitions between page content.
Scroll events can be notoriously taxing on the browser, so I went with the much more reliable and less costly IntersectionObserver API to handle my transitions.
